Nevertheless, WarnerMedia has failed to capitalize on those assets in recent years. That is why AT&T, the parent company of WarnerMedia, has been in talks for some time with competitor Discovery, which mainly broadcasts reality series on its Discovery + platform. Those talks have led to a merger, with which Discovery and WarnerMedia want to compete with the big rivals Netflix and Disney +.
