Warner Bros Interactive Shouldn’t Be Sold, Ultimately

Put your credit card away: Warner Bros Interactive will remain within the American group and is no longer for sale.

Warner Bros Interactive has been withdrawn from the transfer market. In an email sent to all employees, and available on thegroup press area, Jason Killar, CEO, has confirmed that Warner Bros Interactive will ultimately not be sold.

For several weeks, it had been said that AT&T, the parent company, was seeking to recover a few billion dollars with the sale of this video game division. These rumors came from CNBC and VentureBeat which even gave a list of potential buyers. There was in the Activision batch, Electronic Arts and Take Two. Microsoft is said to have even declared an interest at one point.

It is not known what prompted Warner Bros. to retain its Interactive branch. Maybe they noticed that she could generate quite a bit of income in the future. Or the bids from the various contenders were deemed too low.

The case Warner Bros Interactive is indeed complicated. If someone were to acquire it, they would get their hands on talents rather than licenses. Only NetherRealm has its own franchise (Mortal Kombat). The rest, namely Batman, LEGO, Injustice, Middle-earth, Harry Potter… belong to their respective beneficiaries.

This announcement comes just days after Rocksteady formalized the Suicide Squad video game. The latter will be revealed in images on August 22 at the DC FanDome. It should nevertheless be a simple teaser, the game not being planned for many months, he told himself.

Another title in production on the side of Warner Bros Interactive, a Harry Potter RPG. This is developed by Avalanche Software, to whom we owe them Disney Infinity. It still hasn’t been announced but leaked over a year ago.

Will Injustice 3 be NetherRealm’s next game? If so, will it be at the DC FanDome?
