After receiving more than double the annual average snowfall, warmer temperatures will be felt again in New York City.
According to reports from The New York Post, the last snowfall that lasted for several days in New York City, ended on Friday afternoon, leaving at least 10 centimeters of snow in Central Park in Manhattan, and almost 10 centimeters at Kennedy Airport in Queens, detail the forecasts of AccuWeather.
Now they will begin to feel temperatures up to 40 degrees in the next few days, they will melt the existing snow.
AccuWeather’s Chief Meteorologist, Alan Reppert, noted that “The accumulations of snow will be seen more towards the suburbs, the north and the west”he told the Post.
The milder air can allow homeowners to shed ice that has clung to sidewalks and driveways in recent days due to persistent freezing temperatures.
So far this winter there have been in New York, a total of 37 inches of snow in Central Park, more than double the expected average for Manhattan at this point in February.
“The normal snowfall until then is 18.1 inches, so it has been much more than what we normally see”, reported Reppert.
Even so, this season’s snowfall is still well below the record: In the winter of 1995-96, the city received 76 inches of snow, the portal detailed.
Drastic weather changes expected in the United States next week
According to weather reports, a significant thaw is expected in the south-central United States, which has recently been bombarded by winter.
Although the temperature changes will not be as drastic in the Midwest and East, the meteorologists of AccuWeather say the extreme winter weather of recent times should decrease in intensity until the end of February.
“In much of the Eastern states, next week’s temperature change will not be as dramatic as that in the Central states, but it will still be noticeable and should still be pleasant for people who are bothered by the cold.”AccuWeather’s chief meteorologist said, Courtney Travis.

Texas impacted by the storm
Strong winter storms exacerbated the power outage crisis and left millions without a heat source, later causing dozens of frozen, broken and severely damaged pipes in Texas alone.
Now the thaw could cause some pipes that have snapped but remained frozen up to this point to release water without warning.
Homeowners may want to thoroughly inspect all pipes before turning the water back on, indicated the National Metereological Service.
The Hydrological company, Austin Water indicated that the water pressure was restored on Thursday to the main pipes that are “spinal column” of the city’s water distribution system.
The agency said a top priority remains to get hospitals back online, although three major hospitals in the region had their water restored on Thursday.
According to data from the portal, minimum temperature records were reached in some localities, such as Hastings (Nebraska), where the temperature dropped to 30 degrees below zero; Fayetteville (Arkansas), with a record of 20 degrees below zero; Lawton (Oklahoma), with a record of 12 degrees below zero; Y Tyler (Texas), with a record of 6 degrees below zero this past week.
The storms brought up to 60 centimeters of snow in some parts of the region and ice a centimeter thick or more.
