Former internationals John Heitinga (trainer Ajax Under 19) and Kevin Hofland (just fired from Fortuna Sittard) and former international of the Dutch women’s team Jessica Torny have passed the UEFA Pro training, the KNVB announced today. After Vera Pauw, Hesterine de Reus and Sarina Wiegman, Torny is the fourth woman to successfully complete the training.
The UEFA Pro training is the highest trainer training in the Netherlands. Trainers who are in possession of the license are authorized to work independently as head coach in national and international professional football.
Kristof Aelbrecht, Rick Kruys, Rogier Meijer, Rob Penders, Aleksander Rankovic, Paul Simonis, Dave Vos and Willem Weijs also received their diplomas. Virgilio Teixeira, Dennis van der Ree and Dirk Kuijt are still sitting in the waiting room from the same ‘Class of 2019’. Due to the corona limitations, the practical part of the training is especially difficult to plan and that causes delays.
