Jakarta

The Japanese national team has yet to participate in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, but fans of the country of the rising sun have already attracted attention. The cleanup action at the stadium left the home fans in awe.

The 2022 World Cup was officially opened with an opening ceremony and continued with a duel in the Group A stage between Qatar and Ecuador. In the match that took place on Sunday at Al Bayt Stadium, Al Khor (20/11/2022), Ecuador emerged victorious with two unanswered goals.

The match was not only followed by fans of the two competing teams, but also by a group of fans of the Japan national team. They weren’t many, but they managed to capture the world’s attention.

When all the spectators had left the stadium, the Japanese fans had not yet returned. They don’t just sit and take photos of the stadium. They went around the stadium and picked up the trash.

The people of Qatar were amazed by him. Not wanting to miss the moment he surprised them, local residents recorded it and shared it on social media. Uh, the video went viral.

“Someone convinced me that this is normal,” Omar Farooq said when he watched Japan national team fans picking up used drink bottles after the stadium was empty, as quoted by Speak Sports.

“The Japanese fans have decided to clean up the stadium. It’s not even their national team’s match!” he said again.

“When I ask them, ‘Why are you cleaning something that has nothing to do with you?’ The answer is: “The Japanese never leave the trash. We always respect where we are,” he said,” Omar added.

Omar then filmed a larger section of the stadium, and apparently more Japan national team fans were scattered there. They do something similar, picking up trash.

“I’ve heard something like this before, but I never thought it was real. Wow,” Omar said.

It is not the first time that fans of the Japanese national team demonstrate the cleanliness of the stadiums during the World Cup. They became the spotlight of the world and were given the thumbs up when they performed similar action at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

At the time, the cleansing action was also carried out by fans of the Japan national team after Japan’s heartbreaking defeat at the hands of Belgium 2-3.

Not only did the fans of the Japan national team clean up, but the players also left the dressing room neat and clean. They even left a note that said “thank you” in Russian.
