The modding team at LoreCraft Designs has finally launched the first part of the campaign in their reimagined fan version of Warcraft 2, Warcraft: Chronicles of the Second War. This installment will focus on the Horde, with the Tides of Darkness campaign, and is available as a free download for anyone who has Warcraft 3 Reforged on PC.
LoreCraft Designs announced the release of a trailer for Chronicles of the Second War – using assets from Warcraft 3 Reforged, showing plot points from the remade Horde campaign and announcing scenarios with RTS and RPG mechanics. In less than 10 hours, the trailer soared to 100,000 views and received enthusiastic responses from fans who had been waiting for the project to launch for years.
Literally not a single member of the team expected such an amazing response and reach. This means that the thousands and thousands of hours of work put into the project were NOT WASTED.
The team also clarified that “this is not the end” and now plans to rethink the Human campaign, with development starting “later” after a short rest.
With addition campaigns on the download page Chronicles of the Second War indicates that the game has already been installed by more than 33,000 people. For many Warcraft fans, modders actually delivered what they wanted from the much-maligned Warcraft 3 Reforged in 2020, and it appears they did a better job than the official developers.
