President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the Israeli Parliament today.
“We are in different states and in completely different conditions. But we have one threat – the total destruction of the people, the state, culture and even the name. I want you to think about February 24, the beginning of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. This day has entered into history twice, and both times as a tragedy for Ukrainians and Jews. On February 24, 1920, the NSDAP was founded, a party that claimed millions of lives, destroyed entire countries. After 102 years, also on February 24, an order was issued to “Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. This is an invasion that claimed thousands of lives and made millions of people exiled. Our people are now scattered around the world, seeking security, as you once sought,” Zelensky said.
He urged to listen to what the Kremlin says.
“There are even terms that were used in Nazi Germany. During the Second World War, it was called the “final solution of the Jewish question.” And now in the Kremlin it is called the “final solution of the Ukrainian question.” People of Israel, you saw how Russian missiles hit the Babi Yar, where more than 100,000 Holocaust victims are buried. On the very first day, Russian shells hit the city of Uman, visited by tens of thousands of Jews every year,” the president said.
