“War Thunder Economic Update Backfires: Players Angry and Rating Drops”

Free-to-play multiplayer action War Thunder has in recent days got a new update, which brought significant changes to the game’s economy. Although the developers from the Gaijin Entertainment studio presented this change as something positive, a large number of players apparently have the opposite opinion.

After the release of the update, War Thunder faces the Steam review bombing. At the time of writing the article dropped overall game rating to 62%. The game even has a creepy 9% rating in the recent reviews section. Players are complaining that the new update has slowed down the already problematic acquisition of research points and in-game currency.

After the release of the new update, players who does not pay a premium account and does not own premium vehicles. Other players pointed out that after the update, even the mentioned premium account is not enough to progress faster through the game, but it is necessary to own paid equipment at the same time.

In response to the criticism, the developers released a statement in which they finally confirmed the cancellation of changes in the economy. At the same time, mentions and links to Steam were removed from the game’s official website, whose current user rating of the title is definitely not a good advertisement.

In addition to PC, War Thunder is also available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
