New Delhi. There was a war of words between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress over the murder of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena President Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi on Tuesday. Both parties accused the law and order situation of worsening during each other’s rule.

Police said that three armed assailants shot dead Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena’s national president Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi in his house in Jaipur on Tuesday. Police said one attacker was also killed in retaliatory firing.

Union Minister and BJP leader Gajendra Singh Shekhawat criticized the previous Congress government in Rajasthan for the law and order situation, saying it is an adverse effect of the way ‘gang wars’ have started in the state since the time of Ashok Gehlot government. .

He said in the Parliament complex, “Due to the threats received by Karni Sena President Sukhdev Singh, he had lodged a police complaint and had also warned the administration about it. But unfortunately, security was not provided at the level it should have been provided.” Shekhawat said that those who have committed this heinous act should be immediately arrested and given strict punishment.

Senior Congress leader Pramod Tiwari claimed that the morale of criminals in Rajasthan has increased after getting information about Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) coming to power in the state. Congress leader Rajiv Shukla said that the Karni Sena chief was murdered as soon as the Ashok Gehlot government left.
