US Senator Lindsey Graham, close to Donald Trump, distinguished himself on Thursday March 3, 2022 with a controversial outing. The politician called for someone to “eliminate” the Russian president for the good of humanity. Shocking words that came after the bombing of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant by the Russian armed forces.
“You would be doing a great service (…) to the whole world”
“The only way to end this (the war in Ukraine, editor’s note) is for someone in Russia to eliminate this guy,” said Lindsey Graham, referring to Vladimir Putin, in a Tweet. And to add: “You would be doing a great service to your country (…) and to the whole world.”

The only way this ends is for somebody in Russia to take this guy out.

The Republican senator continued his offensive, in another Tweet, explaining that “the only people who can solve this problem are the Russians.” “Unless you want to live in darkness for the rest of your life, be isolated from the rest of the world in abject poverty, and live in darkness, you must take the lead,” he urges very strongly.
Russia denounces a “call to terrorism”
Anatoly Antonov, Russian Ambassador to the United States, said these statements were “unacceptable and outrageous”. The Russian representative castigates the “russophobia and hatred (…) out of the ordinary” of the United States. “It is impossible to believe that a senator from a country that boasts of moral values (…) for all humanity can afford to call for terrorism,” he said, before criticizing ” American destiny, which is ruled by such irresponsible politicians.”
Russia demands “official explanations” and “a firm condemnation of the criminal statements of this American”.
