May 9, “Day of Victory” of the Allies against Nazi Germany in 1945, is a day of commemoration in Russia. As Sergei Andreev, the Russian ambassador to Poland, was about to lay a wreath at the cemetery of Soviet soldiers in Warsaw, the latter was sprayed with fake blood by Ukrainians who had gathered to denounce the invasion of their country.

“Fascists”; “Putin is sh*t”among other things, shouted the activists at the time of their action. “I am proud of my president”retorted Sergei Andreev according to the Polish media Polsatnews. Referring to the Donetsk People’s Republic, recognized by Russia, the Ambassador added: “these territories do not belong to Ukraine”.
Despite the hostility of the crowd, Sergei Andreev was finally able to be exfiltrated. The Russian Foreign Ministry was quick to react to the incident, claiming it “reflects the West’s drift towards the reincarnation of fascism”. The video of the incident was broadcast by the Russian agency RIA Novosti, without sound, surely to evade the insults and criticism chanted against the Kremlin.
