Politicians from Ukraine report on rapes by Russian soldiers. Women over the age of sixty are particularly affected.
London – Four politicians from Ukraine* met British Prime Minister Boris Johnson* in London on March 17, 2022 for talks about the Ukraine conflict*, as reported by various media, including The Scotsman. “We have reports that most of these women were either executed after being raped or took their own lives,” Vasylenko added. It is difficult for humanitarian aid organizations to get to Ukraine. That is why they are not currently present in Ukraine, said politician Maria Mezentseva.
When asked about the impact on the situation of children in Ukraine, Lesia Vasylenko accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of “stealing childhood from millions of children”. The politician has two children herself, she said. The youngest is nine months old. “We will see a generation of Ukrainians growing up with the burden of war already on their shoulders,” Vasylenko said.
Ukraine conflict: Ukrainian politicians are again calling on companies to withdraw from Russia
The politicians once again called on British companies to turn their backs on Russia. The USA*, Great Britain and the EU* had imposed sanctions on Russia, which many countries around the world followed. In addition, many companies withdrew from Russia voluntarily – in protest against the Ukraine war and probably also because they feared a loss of image. Alona Shkrum criticized that some companies from Great Britain have not yet left Russia.
Other companies still active in Russia include Mark&Spencers and Imperial Tobacco. “This is very important now to isolate Putin economically and to make it clear to him that he doesn’t get a handshake from the world, from business. There will be no sporting or cultural events for him because he has killed and continues to kill more than 100 children in Ukraine,” Shkrum said.
