War in Ukraine – MI6 reported liquidated Russian occupiers – UNIAN

The head of British intelligence gave his estimate of the number of Russians killed in Ukraine.

Head of the UK Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) Richard Moore believes that it may become difficult for Russia to provide for its military, and they are likely to take an operational pause in the coming weeks.

This is reported Radio Liberty.

It is noted that speaking at the Aspen Security Forum in the US state of Colorado, Moore expressed the opinion that the progress that Russian troops have made in Ukraine in recent months is relatively small.

“We are talking about a small number of miles of progress. When they take a city, nothing remains. It is destroyed,” he said.

An operational pause would give Ukrainian forces, whose morale he says are still high, the opportunity to strike back with the “more and more good weapons” they have received, the intelligence chief said.

Moore noted at the same time that the war is “obviously not over,” and with the approach of winter and pressure on gas supplies, “we are in for hard times.” But it is important, in his opinion, that Ukrainian forces demonstrate their ability to strike back, and that Europe continues to support Ukraine militarily.

The head of intelligence also gave his estimate of the number of occupiers killed in the war so far – 15,000. He said it was “probably a conservative estimate” and called “very bloody” the nose of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who expected a quick victory.

“And these are not middle-class children from St. Petersburg or Moscow. These are poor children from rural areas of Russia. They are from Siberian towns. They belong disproportionately to ethnic minorities. This is his cannon fodder,” commented Moore.

As UNIAN reported, as of July 21 total losses of the Russian occupiers make up 38,850 people.
