Igor Mangushev died in hospital, just a few days after he was shot during a stay in occupied Ukraine. It informs friends and family of the notorious mercenary.
It was BBC who first mentioned the matter.
Russian Mangushev was a notorious mercenary and army captain who, among other things, was one of the founders behind the nationalist mercenary group ENOT Corporation, which has been fighting in Ukraine since 2014.
Mangushev was leading an anti-drone unit in occupied Luhansk when he was shot, according to the BBC.

Filmed with a skull
In a video posted on social media last August, Mangushev posed with a skull. He claimed the skull belonged to a Ukrainian fighter pilot killed defending the Azovstal steelworks in the southern port of Mariupol.
The mercenary was known as an extreme nationalist and founded the nationalist organization Svetlaya Rus in 2009.
Among other things, the organization has been accused of coordinating attacks against illegal immigrants in Russia.
Mangushev is also known to have worked with “Putin’s chef” Yevgeny Prigozhin, the self-proclaimed leader of the mercenary group Wagner.
“Pure execution”
According to Russian reports, Mangushev was shot in the head at close range. His wife describes the murder as a “pure execution”.
Russian authorities have said they are investigating the killing, but have not commented on who might be behind it.
Pavel Gubarev, another Russian nationalist, has subsequently stated that “everyone knows who is behind it”, pointing out that Prigozhin has not spoken out about the incident.
