War in Ukraine: for the former French tennis player Alexandre Sidorenko, “the media treatment is anti-Russian”

It’s a real rant. Alexander Sidorenko, winner of the Australian Open juniors in 2006, spoke about the war in Ukraine. This concerns him particularly, because the ex-tennis player was born in Russia in Saint Petersburg, before being naturalized French. In an interview for West France, he got angry with the way the conflict is treated by the media: “I find that there is a lack of fairness in the treatment of the war by the press and the media. They lean towards the Ukrainian side. »

Alexander Sidorenko, who says he is against the war, believes that the press does not cover the entire conflict: “I find this type of misinformation incorrect and unjust. There is a real bias, you have to receive information from both sides. Truths but also lies are told. “. The former tennis player, who ended his career in 2017, does not hide a deep discomfort with what he can listen to and read. ” I do not feel very good. Even if I am not directly affected because I live in France, ”he adds.

The Frenchman also wants to return to Russia as soon as he can because part of his family still lives in Russia, near Saint Petersburg. “It’s been a few years since I went there because of the Covid-19”, explains the one who lives in Paris and reached the 145th place in the world in singles in 2009.
