In a snapshot taken by a photographer from the American agency Associated Press, a pregnant woman, apparently injured, is transported on a stretcher by several men after the bombardment of a maternity hospital in Mariupol.

Russia had shouted “fake news” in a tweet posted by its embassy in the UK.

Still, according to the AP agency, the pregnant woman depicted on a stretcher after Russian forces struck a maternity hospital in Mariupol on March 9 died. The child also did not survive, according to the Associated Press photographer who took the picture.
