The last tranche of military assistance to Ukraine was insufficient, Ukraine is now significantly underarmed.
It is time for NATO to understand – or Alliance goes beyond the defined territory, or stops its activities.
This position was expressed by the former commander-in-chief (1997 – 2000) of the allied forces of the United States and NATO, Wesley Clark, regarding the current state of affairs on the Russian-Ukrainian front, writes “Voice of America“.
According to the retired general, direct intervention by NATO forces is needed to stop Russian aggression against Ukraine.
“The idea of Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, which has found support today, that NATO cannot do anything unless there is a direct attack, this idea was leveled back in the 90s. It’s time to return to the lessons we have learned. NATO must intervene. Let’s make it official and order the Russians to cease fire. The war cannot be stopped without NATO intervention,” Clarke said.
