Britain and France want to prevent newly elected US President Donald Trump from cutting aid to Ukraine.

As he writes The Telegraphtoday British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will meet with French President Emmanuel Macron. They plan to make one last attempt to persuade Trump.

It is noted that politicians will also discuss whether it is possible to convince current US leader Joe Biden to allow the Ukrainian Armed Forces to fire Storm Shadow missiles deep into Russian territory. In particular, London hopes that a corresponding decision will finally be made.

“We really want to make sure that we can make the most of the time before January 20 (when Trump becomes US president), and not just postpone everything until the next administration,” one of the sources said.

Another source added that Biden is expected to “open the taps” by handing over additional financial aid to Kyiv before leaving the White House.
