War in Ukraine. A first convoy of donations has left Terville

Olivier Postal, the mayor of Terville, had not imagined such a wave of solidarity when he launched, on Monday February 28, a call for donations for Ukrainian refugees.

In less than a week, the town hall had stored more than 500 boxes containing clean clothes, blankets, hygiene products, toys, food products, sleeping bags, flashlights, etc.

emotion and pride

“I am particularly moved to see once again the great generosity of so many Tervillois families. It makes me proud to be mayor of such a municipality. I warmly thank the elected officials, the CCAS and municipal agents, the Tervillois volunteers who were 100% involved in this collection, because it was necessary to receive, sort, put in boxes, label and store “, he testifies. .

However, this surge of generosity is not only from Terville, it is also from Hettange, Hayange, Thionville, Illange… It comes from various humanitarian and charitable associations.

Other collection initiatives are underway and will gradually increase the municipality’s stocks: a college in Kédange, a high school in Thionville, an association of nursing students in Thionville, the factory council in Terville, the pharmacy schools in Terville, the P’ti Maraîcher in Manom, etc.

The collection continues

The very first Terville convoy, made up of six vans containing 40 square meters of duly labeled boxes, left for Metz on Friday, the City of Terville having subscribed to the approach proposed by the Association of Mayors of Moselle, in conjunction with the Civil protection, which organizes a first departure towards the Ukrainian border.

The town hall of Terville will continue to receive donations because other convoys are planned later. For the moment, the needs are as follows: hygiene products for children, women and men (shower gels/shampoos, baby diapers, sanitary napkins, toothpaste, toothbrushes), non-perishable, unopened and non-liquid foodstuffs (preserves, pasta, rice, dried fruit, etc.), bedding items (blankets, duvets, pillows, etc.), first aid kits, radios, batteries and flashlights, and moving boxes for packing at the town hall .
