The Sudanese government decided not to participate in the Geneva talks scheduled for Wednesday to resolve the ongoing war in the country.
A statement issued on behalf of the Minister of Information and government spokesman, Graham Abdul Qader, said that the government adheres to the Jeddah Declaration as the only platform for negotiations.
This followed the failure of a consultation meeting between the Sudanese government delegation and American diplomats on Sunday in the Saudi city of Jeddah prior to the talks.
