Severodonetks –
Ukraine reported that his troops had been pushed back from the industrial city center, Severodonetsk. The battle in this city is called President Volodymyr Zelensky as a fight to defend every inch of its territory.
Reported by AFP, Tuesday (14/6/2022), Severodonetsk along with Lysychansk are the last two cities in Lugansk that were previously still under Ukrainian control.
The governor of Lugansk, Sergiy Gaiday, said Russian troops had gathered more combat equipment to besiege Severodonetsk.
“They pushed our troops from the city center and continued the destruction of our city,” said Sergiy Gaiday.
The center of the chemical industry, Azot, has a large civilian population. They are said to have fled and were protected. In Lysychansk, Russian bombardments have killed three civilians, including a six-year-old boy.
Previously, the bridge connecting Severodonetsk with Lysychansk had been bombed by Russia on Sunday (12/6) local time. Russian troops here also include pro-Russian Ukrainian separatist groups. The spokesman for the separatist group, Eduard Basurin, has stated this.
“The Ukrainian troops are there, they will be there forever. They have two options: surrender or die,” Basurin said.
