->
After three weeks Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker descended from his throne and had to transfer it to Golden Globes Award winner 1917. The war film by Sam Mendes (Skyfall) made a nice $ 36.5 million in the States and stands at $ 60.5 million worldwide.

And then there were three newcomers in the top 10. The weakly received comedy Like a Boss ended up in fourth place, the highly received drama Just Mercy finished in sixth place on the third weekend and the scifi thriller that was judged differently Underwater got no further than place seven in the debut.

Still not a billion for Star Wars
After the fourth weekend The Rise of Skywalker at $ 478.2 million in the States and is approaching the billion worldwide at around $ 10 million. Meanwhile, it seems clear that the $ 1,332.5 million from The Last Jedi too high for that Episode IX. Disney’s Frozen II now stands at just under $ 1.4 billion and Sony’s Jumanji: The Next Level is approaching the $ 700 million worldwide.
