War criminal and IS member seeking asylum in our country exposed as Syrian national.

A 38-year-old Syrian who fled his country together with hundreds of thousands of compatriots in 2015 and applied for political asylum in Belgium has been in jail since last week. The federal prosecutor’s office wants to prosecute him for committing war crimes and participating in the activities of a terrorist organization. It is the first time in our country that an asylum seeker has been prosecuted for war crimes committed in Syria.
