A robber’s seven-year escape ended at Freiburg’s main train station. The 23-year-old went into hiding after being sentenced.
In 2015, the then 23-year-old was sentenced to 30 months in prison for particularly aggravated robbery. Instead of serving his sentence, the man went into hiding and ran away.
On Thursday afternoon, 15 September, the wanted person traveled to Germany on a long-distance train from Switzerland. It was checked by a customs patrol in Mllheim. During the check it was established that an arrest warrant should be executed against him. When he stopped in Freiburg im Breisgau, the now 30-year-old was handed over to the federal police, who arrested him. He was then taken to prison to serve a two-year and six-month prison sentence.
