JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Exchange rate or exchange rate rupiah to dollar AS weakened in the spot market on Thursday (28/4/2022).

According to Bloomberg data at 09.14 WIB, the rupiah was at the level of Rp. 14,462 per US dollar, or down 48 points (0.34 percent) compared to the previous close of Rp. 14,412 per US dollar.

Bank Mandiri economist Reny Eka Putri said the movement of the rupiah today was influenced by the increase in Covid-19 cases in a number of countries. In addition, the Fed’s plan to aggressively raise interest rates also overshadowed foreign exchange movements.

“The Fed’s hawkish policy makes the US dollar assets still tend to strengthen. Volatility in the forex market is predicted to remain high in line with the increase in the dollar index. Domestically, the resilience of the rupiah is still supported by capital inflows that are still entering the domestic market,” said Reny to Kompas.com.

The Jakarta Interbank Spot Dollar Rate (Jisdor) reference rate, the rupiah was at Rp 14,418 per US dollar on Wednesday (27/4/2022), or weakened compared to the previous Rp 14,412 per US dollar.

As for rupiah course At big banks in Indonesia, such as CIMB Niaga, the selling rate is pegged at Rp. 14,420 per US dollar. Selling rate means the bank sells US dollars at this position. Meanwhile, the buying rate at CIMB Niaga is Rp. 14,405 per US dollar.

This buying rate means that if you want to sell US dollars, the bank will buy it at this position.
