In order to support health protocols in air transportation, Soekarno-Hatta Airport’s Airport Health Center provides an RT-PCR service which results in about 3 hours. This RT-PCR test service with 3-hour results is specifically for airplane passengers departing on the same date as the test.
For passengers departing on a different date from the test, they can choose the RT-PCR test service with 1×24 hour results, which are also available at the Airport Health Center at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
There is no price difference between the 3-hour output and the 1×24-hour output, where the current price is set at IDR 495,000 according to the Circular of the Director General of Health Services number HK.02.02/I/2845/2021 Regarding the Highest Rate Limit for Reserve Transcription Examination Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR). In the future, it is likely that price adjustments will be made again, waiting for regulations from the government.
President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) Muhammad Awaluddin said the RT-PCR test service at the Airport Health Center aims to support the implementation of health protocols in air transportation.
“Our focus in the midst of this pandemic is to implement health protocols according to government regulations. In line with that, AP II airports seek to present a process and innovation to make it easier for airplane passengers to undergo health protocols,” said Muhammad Awaluddin in a written statement, Tuesday. “One of the efforts to provide convenience in fulfilling health protocols is through the RT-PCR test service with results that can be known in about 3 hours at the Airport Health Center at Soekarno-Hatta Airport specifically for passengers who fly on the same date as the test, whose costs are no different. with the results coming out 1×24 hours,” he continued.
According to Angkasa Pura II records, since it opened on October 24, 2021, the RT-PCR test service with results coming out in about 3 hours is quite attractive. In about 2 days, in the period from October 24 to October 26 to 6 am, there were 230 airplane passengers who chose the RT-PCR service with the results coming out in about 3 hours.
On October 26, at 00.00 – 12.00 WIB, the number who underwent RT-PCR with results of about 3 hours out reached 96 passengers or more than those who chose RT-PCR results 1×24 hours as many as 57 people.
“We see that there has been a shift that airplane passengers are now carrying out RT-PCR tests on the same day as departure, because the Airport Health Center at Soekarno-Hatta Airport is able to provide test results out in about 3 hours,” said Muhammad Awaluddin.
