/ world today news/ Today in Beijing, the member of the Politburo of the CCP Central Committee and the head of the CCP Central Committee’s foreign affairs office, Wang Yi, met with the US President’s special envoy on climate issues, John Kerry. Wang Yi said the world needs stable Sino-US relations. The two sides must implement the important consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and President Joe Biden during their successful meeting in Bali, Indonesia last November, in order to get bilateral ties back on track.
Wang Yi also pointed out that China insists on following the path of low-carbon and sustainable development, actively developing international cooperation in dealing with climate change, to build a community of shared destiny, as well as a clean and beautiful world.
Kerry said that the United States attaches importance to the stabilization of US-China relations and hopes that joint efforts will promote the improvement of relations between the two countries for the prosperity of the whole world. He stressed that Washington upholds the “one China” policy and will strengthen cooperation with China on the basis of mutual respect.
