Postponed event from May 23, 2021.
William Blanks’ triple concerto “Alisma” was to celebrate its world premiere in Dresden in 2020 on the occasion of the Beethoven celebrations. Due to the corona crisis, the world premiere will take place almost exactly one year later, on May 23, 2021, with the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra under the direction of its chief conductor Kent Nagano in the Kulturpalast. Inspired by Beethoven’s musical impulses, especially his famous Triple Concerto, Blank seeks compositional dialogue in the present with “Alisma”. In addition to the cellist Jan Vogler and the violinist Mira Wang, the solo clarinet of the Vienna Philharmonic, Daniel Ottensamer, can be experienced as soloists. The concert will only be broadcast. The stream is available at www.musikfestspiele.com.
