Wanderer (46) crashes at Gilgenberg ruin

A 46-year-old hiker fell down a slope on Sunday in Zullwill, Solothurn, near the “Gilgenberg” ruins. He was seriously injured. A rescue helicopter flies the Swiss to the hospital.

The man was on his way back from a hike on Sunday afternoon when he stumbled on a narrow and steeply sloping path. He fell and fell down the slope, as the Solothurn cantonal police announced on Monday.

The alarm center was informed of the accident shortly after 3 p.m. Several police patrols, the emergency services and the Ibach fire brigade deployed on site. They found the seriously injured man in rough terrain. The helicopter of the Swiss Air Rescue Service (Rega) was called up for the rescue.
