The appearance of Evan Peters as Pietro in ‘WandaVision’ has surprised more than one and now the big question is if with his appearance in the Disney + series the ‘X-Men’ films produced by Fox become canon of the MCU .
Things took an unexpected turn in episode 5 of WandaVision, as the Disney + series (enjoy several days without cost of the service if you are a new subscriber) introduced Quicksilver in the final stretch, but not the one we saw in Avengers: Age of Ultron played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, but it was the version in charge of Evan Peters, who was in X-Men: Days of the Future past and two more sequels. Just because of its antecedent, a question comes to the minds of many about it: Does the introduction of the character mean that X-Men films produced by Fox are now canon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
There are several things to consider; the first one is a detail that really seems important during the episode, since if it is reproduced with the option of “Audio description in English”, a voice-over narrates the things that happen without omitting the dialogues. It is here that in the sequence in which Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) opens the door to discover that it is her brother Pietro, the voice says: “Wanda watches Pietro’s version of the X-Men movies”, so really WandaVision wants to make it clear that he does not hide the existence of the mutant tapes in the MCU.

Despite the aforementioned phrase that can be heard in the episode, This does not mean that we can already consider canon of the MCU the x-men movies, since for now there was no major interaction between Wanda and Pietro. It is true that Darcy (Kat Dennings) mentions the replacement in the actor behind Pietro, but perhaps she is only a reflection of the reaction of many people while watching the episode.
‘WandaVision’: What does the commercial of episode 5 of the Disney + series mean?
Also, let’s remember that anything can happen at Westview. They have already shown us that nothing is what it seems and even Vision (Paul Bettany) has serious doubts about it. This could lead to a bigger reveal about Evan Peters and his Quicksilver. Although we see the character coming from the X-Men movies, Wanda only sees a boy who mentions being her brother, but that in the first instance he did not recognize. It is clear that she cannot revive people, but the dialogue she had with her children about missing their brother perhaps made noise in someone with greater abilities and that is how He “granted” his wish to have him back, but when he was unable to bring the version of the MCU, it just put one more person in the role.
In other words, Someone is playing with Wanda’s feelings and reactions and therefore introduces her to a new Pietro. Is it about Mephisto? It could be, but let’s not forget that Agnes (Kathryn Hahn) is increasingly attached to Wanda and now she is not surprised by the use of her powers; Interestingly, she always knows what her neighbor needs and is on time to meet the needs, so Agnes may have been the one who brought a new Pietro to Westview as well.

There is also the possibility that the X-Men movies do connect with the MCU, but in a parallel wayThat is, Marvel Studios would not be interested in continuing with what Fox did in the tapes, but neither would it turn a blind eye and accept that this occurs in a multiverse. Let’s remember that the term is becoming more and more common, in addition to the fact that Ryan Reynolds will return as Deadpool now as part of Marvel Studios, without forgetting the reports on Spider-Man 3 and the incorporation of old acquaintances such as Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, bringing from turn past versions of the character into an arachnid multiverse.

So the appearance of Evan Peters certainly leaves open the possibility that the X-Men movies will become canon for him. MCU, Although for now we must wait for more episodes to know if someone in the plot does not throw the interaction overboard and reveals that it is a much more sophisticated plan than we think and that it would have nothing to do with mutants as such.
