WAM Delegation Visits Turkish Media Institutions to Enhance News Exchange

Istanbul, October 27 / WAM / A delegation from the Emirates News Agency (WAM), headed by His Excellency Mohammed Jalal Al Raisi, Director General of the agency, discussed ways to enhance news exchange with media institutions in the Republic of Turkey, and their participation in the second session of the World Media Congress in Abu Dhabi.

This came during a visit by a WAM delegation to a number of Turkish media institutions, as part of the delegation’s participation in the 51st meeting of Asia-Pacific news agencies “Awana”, which was held in Istanbul under the slogan “Fighting misleading news.”

The visit comes in order to build distinguished partnerships with the Turkish media, and to discuss the outcomes of the first session of the World Media Congress with partners from various parts of the world.

The WAM delegation visited the headquarters of the Anatolia News Agency and met with Mr. Serdar Kargoz, Chairman of the Agency’s Board of Directors and General Director. The partnership between the two sides was discussed in terms of news exchange and the opportunities available for its development.

The delegation also visited the Turkish Demirören Group, which is one of the largest Turkish media groups, as it includes 8 television channels, the most famous of which are Turkish CNN and Kanal D, in addition to 11 newspapers and magazines in addition to its affiliated radio stations. The delegation visited the group’s media school, which trains and qualifies young people. To work in the media field.

The delegation visited the Turkuvaz Foundation, one of the largest media institutions in Turkey, which includes a number of media outlets such as Sabah newspaper, ATV TV, and a number of publications, publishing houses and radio stations, where the delegation learned about the work cycle in these institutions, in addition to the media services they provide and the frameworks of joint cooperation. His Excellency Mohammed Jalal Al Raisi said: “We aim through this visit to discuss the outcomes of the first session of the World Media Congress, which was held last year in Abu Dhabi, and to extend an invitation to the Turkish media to participate in its second session,” noting that this event provides an ideal platform to enhance news exchange between Various international media.
