This rocking chair with generous curves from the 1950s comes from the first collection of American designer Walter Lam.
American Walter Lamb, icon of post-war Californian design, is famous for its outdoor furniture edited by Brown Jordan. As early as the 1940s, he created his famous furniture with bronze tubes from United States Navy cots, which he fetched from sunken military ships at Pearl Harbour. In 1947, he released his first collection. In the greatest freedom, far from stilted codes, he designs garden furniture with fluid graphics, refined, very resistant. This rocking chair in bronze tubes, with the generous curves of the 1950s, is part of his classical repertoire. The backrest and seat are lined with cotton cords treated for outdoor use.
Estimate between 1,800 and 2,700 euros.
