Mercedes driver Walter Botass showed the fastest lap time in the first training session before the Spanish GP on the Barcelona track. Meanwhile, Max Verstapen showed the second time.
Robert Kubica, whose sponsor “Orlen” is one of the main supporters of the “Alfa Romeo” team, was again able to spend an hour-long training in the Spanish GP. Unfortunately, the pleasures of the Polish pilot were short – 20 minutes before the end of the training, Kubica slipped into the new 10th bend and got stuck in the safety zone.
Luis Hamilton led most of the session, but at the end he was beaten by teammate Botass. Meanwhile, “Red Bull” was able to show the second result, despite small problems with the equipment – it was done by the champion candidate Max Verstapen.
Lendo Noriss from McLrean again proved to be the best of the others, while his teammate Daniel Ricardo lost to the British 0.8 seconds, which is definitely not a satisfactory result. The second member of the team, whose performance was drastically different from the result of the team leader, was Serhio Peress – the Mexican also lost 0.8 seconds to Verstapen. However, it should be noted here that Perez “collided” with Ricardo in his last circle in his flying circle, who was preparing the beginning of his flying circle at that time.
