The world-famous walrus – traveler Wally – has arrived in Iceland. He has previously visited several Western European countries.
The animal arrived over the weekend in a small fishing town in the eastern part of the country and lazily rattled on the pier. Many locals had come to see the big animal, and Wally seemed to enjoy the increased attention.
Walrus are inhabited by Arctic seas, but were last seen in Iceland five years ago. But people were interested in the fact that the guest is the well-known Wallie.
This was evidenced by his movements and scars on the fins. This year, Wallie swam several thousand kilometers and visited settlements in Spain, France, the Netherlands, Britain and Ireland.
While in British Isles, an animal weighing about 800 kilograms noticed the sinking of several boats, but friends of nature said it was not abusive.
The small floats simply could not support the animal’s weight and overturned as Wallley tried to climb in to soak up the sun.
