Mexico City.- Starting this Monday, Walmart de México (Walmex) has the Covid-19 vaccine from the American pharmaceutical company Moderna available.
The vaccine, called Spikevax, will be applied at a price of 749 pesos in more than 130 offices adjacent to Walmart Express and Walmart Supercenter store pharmacies, in 19 states of the country.
Farmacia San Pablo also now offers the Moderna vaccine for 798 pesos.
At the end of 2023, Walmart de México announced the sale of the Comirnaty vaccine, from the pharmaceutical company Pfizer, also American, for 845 pesos.
“To date, more than 6,000 vaccines have been administered. By adding Moderna’s Spikevax vaccine, the company will have the capacity to apply nearly 500 doses daily in its offices,” Walmart said in a statement.
“Walmart Express and Walmart Supercenter customers will be able to find both vaccines with the option to purchase four for the price of three,” he added.
San Pablo, Farmacias Guadalajara and Farmacias del Ahorro also sell the Pfizer Covid vaccine, at 848 pesos, 840 pesos and 799 pesos, respectively. Likewise, Farmacias Benavides offers it for 899 pesos for adults and 799 for children.
In December 2023, the Federal Commission for the Protection against Health Risks (Cofepris) authorized the marketing of updated versions of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.
