Since the beginning of the legislature, 22 new approved medical centers – which offer at least general medicine, physiotherapy and nursing care fully reimbursed for the patient – have been opened in Wallonia, bringing the total number of approved medical centers to 104 in the south of the country.
At the same time, thanks to the European Common Agricultural Policy, 13 rural medical centers have also been able to benefit from building extensions and better equipment. Finally, resources have been freed up under the regional recovery plan to hire a part-time social worker in nearly half of the medical centers in Wallonia. “It is important to continue to strengthen and make better known the services of the medical centers which offer, thanks to a multidisciplinary team, quality health care accessible to all financially.“, concludes Minister Morreale.
