(Reuters) – Wall Street closed lower on Tuesday on the eve of a Federal Reserve meeting, which is expected to significantly hike interest rates.
According to preliminary data, the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index fell 43.61 points, or 1.12 percent, to close at 3856.28 points, while the Nasdaq Composite Index lost 107.87 points, or 0. , 94 percent, to close at 11,427.15 points.
The industrial index also fell 306.89 points, or 0.99 percent, to 30,712.79 points.
