This Wednesday, May 26, 2021, the day of the general meeting of Safran shareholders, the CGT calls for a strike on the Dijon site as everywhere in France. Employees are protesting against the allocation of 42 million euros in profit-sharing to the group’s 800 senior executives.

They are about twenty strikers this Wednesday morning in front of the Dijon site of Safran electronics and defense.
The day on which the general meeting of shareholders of the group is held, these employees symbolically protest against the allocation of stock options to the eight hundred most senior executives of the company which has 79,000 employees worldwide. This aeropage will be shared the sum of 42 million euros as a long-term incentive.
The staff representative of the Dijon plant, Romuald Tortosa, is outraged.
This represents 2% of the workforce. They will receive around 52,500 euros each while we asked employees to make great efforts in this period of crisis.

The Dijon site manufactures precision optical, electronic and mechanical equipment for the military, but other Safran sites work for aeronautics: “With the crisis, the factories separated from all the temporary workers, sometimes up to 30% of the workforce. The permanent employees had to accept temporary internal mobility on sites which produced more in order to preserve their jobs. ”
In Dijon, around thirty people from Le Creusot and Commercy thus came to reinforce the three hundred employees of the site.
A feeling of injustice
For the CGT staff representative, “the employees feel a huge frustration”.
Why not have paid profit-sharing to the 79,000 employees of Safran? This would have represented 531 euros.
Despite an economically difficult 2020, the Safran group posts 800 million euros in profits. The unions are wondering about the use of the 250 million public aid received.
