A number of regions have set measles outbreak status (KLB) in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Health. In West Java, there are two areas with measles outbreak status, namely Bogor and West Bandung Regency (KBB).
The Bandung City Government is preparing steps to anticipate the spread of measles cases. Bandung Mayor Yana Mulyana said that currently there were no measles cases found in the city of Bandung.
“Alhamdulillah, the city of Bandung is safe with measles. There are no cases, zero cases),” Yana told the media crew at the Arcamanik SOR in Bandung City, Tuesday (24/1/2023).
When asked about prevention so that the city of Bandung remains zero cases, Yana asked the community to actively involve their children in taking immunizations at health services. He guaranteed that the municipal government will continue to provide health insurance for children, including polio and others.
“I ask to take part in immunizations for children. God willing, measles, rubella, polio will follow. God willing, and now hopefully measles will remain zero,” said Yana.
Reported detikHealth, cases of measles in Indonesia increased rapidly throughout 2022, there were more than three thousand cases reported. 3,341 infections to be precise, a 32-fold increase from the previous year, namely 200 cases.
Throughout 2022, these 3,341 cases have spread across 223 regencies or cities in 31 provinces. Of this total, there were 55 outbreaks in 34 urban districts, in 12 provinces. In West Java, there were two areas with measles outbreaks, namely Bogor and KBB. Bogor has six cases, and KBB has two cases.
