He saw this sight while walking from the Medan Mayor’s office to the New Year celebration at Jalan Raden Saleh. Before giving his speech, he saw many couples of men participating in the celebration of the new year.
Seeing this, Bobby also stressed that the residents of Medan should avoid this behavior as it is considered inconsistent with religious teachings and local culture.
“As long as I walk past the mayor’s office, I see how come they are a boy and a boy (a couple), there are none, yes, Medan City has no LGBT, we are anti-LGBT,” Bobby Nasution said, Sunday ( 1/1/2022).
According to President Joko Widodo’s son-in-law, this anti-LGBT attitude was a message from religious figures.
“Even earlier the message from religious leaders that we must avoid things like that, we must also suppress disobedience, things that are outside our culture,” he said.
According to Bobby, even in the local culture, there is not a single ethnic group in Medan that allows same-sex couples.
“There is not a single ethnic group in Medan that teaches same-sex couples, so we just create our own culture, both in terms of culture and in everyday life, as well as as a couple,” he concluded.
He also called and prayed that the residents of Medan who were still single would get married soon with a different type of partner, of course. To continue the descent.
“So those who are single let us pray for 2023 to get married quickly, those who are already married quickly have children, those who already have children please add but not too many times, just two,” he said.
