Walibi stops Halloween activities due to corona virus

Amusement park Walibi Holland in Biddinghuizen will immediately cancel all Halloween activities. Yesterday the event was very chaotic and the corona measures, such as keeping 1.5 meters away, could not be enforced because it was too busy.

According to a spokeswoman, the management has decided to delete it ‘in consultation’ with the municipality of Dronten and the safety region. Walibi already called halfway through the day yesterday to stop coming to the park due to ‘various disruptions’.

Bad weather

Walibi had taken various measures to comply with the corona measures, but it went wrong yesterday due to the bad weather. “We were surprised by the heavy rainfall. People took shelter and we noticed that keeping a 1.5 meter distance from each other was no longer possible.”

Walibi says to have handed out mouth caps. “But it does not feel good to continue with this, also given the current developments surrounding the virus.”

Due to the Halloween festivities, the park would remain open until November 1. That closure has now been brought forward a week to October 25. According to Walibi, everyone who has bought a ticket for the canceled activities will be notified of a compensation scheme by November at the latest.
