Algeria: The Wali of Oran, Said Sayoud, did not hide that some parties were disturbed by Algeria and the city of Oran which embraced the Mediterranean Games.
Sayoud told Al-Hayat channel that Algeria has come under criticism and attacks from some pages and parties, but Oran has risen to the challenge and is ready now, despite doubts about his inability to catch up with the dates for the organization of this major sporting event.
He added: “I say and I repeat that Oran is ready, everything is fine and arrangements are in place awaiting the arrival of the Algerian guests”.
With the approach of this date, which would give an image of Algeria and would contribute to the promotion of Algerian tourism, and would allow the world to open up to Algeria and to get to know it, questions arise as to the Algeria’s readiness for the event.
In this regard, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Abderrezak Sebgag, revealed that all the structures completed and assigned to the event are ready to host the event.
The Minister of Youth and Sports confirmed, in exclusive statements to Al-Chorouk Channel, that all countries have announced their participation in the Mediterranean sporting event.
Sebgag clarified that the reception of foreign delegations will begin from June 19, while all delegations will be present in Algeria on June 24, 2022.
Regarding the number of countries participating in the Mediterranean Games, the first responsible for the sports sector revealed the participation of 26 countries.
The spokesperson denied the rumors circulating on the non-participation of certain countries, pointing out that the 26 countries concerned had announced their participation.
For reference, the leader of the Rachad movement, classified on terrorist lists, Mohamed Larbi Zitout, urged his supporters to thwart the Mediterranean Games, which will be held in Oran at the end of this month.
The fugitive diplomat residing in London called on his supporters in Algeria to turn the games into “hell”, arguing that their failure would be a painful blow for the Algerian authorities.
