Wales: Classical music is playing at McDonald’s

A Welsh McDonald’s branch in Wrexham has started playing classical music to its customers. According to the management, the unusual step should help to minimize aggressive behavior and even outbreaks of violence in and around the fast-food restaurant.

In addition, the WLAN is throttled daily from a certain time, as the initiators also see a source of hostility and antisocial behavior here. What a weird experiment, one might think at first.

In fact, incidents are said to have happened more frequently in the branch recently. It’s about young men in their 20s and 30s who are causing serious concern for the local police. There is talk of bodily harm and verbal abuse against the shop staff and customers.

The police have already called on local organizations such as youth clubs and sports clubs to help de-escalate the situation. “The young people have to be employed,” she quotes BBC a city security officer.

McDonald’s said: “We recognize the high potential for anti-social behavior in the city. So we have put in place a number of measures at our Wrexham restaurant to assist the police in tackling this problem.” Mozart on cheeseburgers.
