Waldviertler Kernland – General Assembly Waldviertler Kernland in Kirchschlag

Chairman Christian Seper was able to welcome the representatives of the fourteen member communities to the general assembly last week in the Gasthaus Adam. He gave a short report on the numerous projects that are currently being carried out together. He is very proud of the numerous awards he has won over the past year, such as for Meal and A World That Bears Your Name. Seper also pointed out the newly designed homepage. An unusual form of information was chosen for the report by Managing Director Doris Maurer. After a brief presentation of the individual projects, the community representatives present had the opportunity to inquire and exchange ideas in detail with the responsible employees at thematic tables. This form was very well received and will be used again at the next meeting.

CLEAR! by the Austrian Climate and Energy Fund will continue to be carried out by nine member municipalities. “How do you perceive climate change?” answered two hundred citizens by sending back the completed questionnaires. Nine locations with different themes are offered in the summer academy. Activities in the forest coordination center are being scaled back.

DAVNE is neighborhood help, offers support, imparts knowledge and can make talents visible. Services for trips, escort, shopping, errands, visits, going for walks and information on the use of mobile phones are available to the population. The employees of DAVNE act as mediators between the client and the volunteers. Community Nursing shows ways of living longer and healthier. Health, preventive care, security, law, care and support are the topics with which trained experts support the citizens of the region in this Austria-wide showcase project. “It is important to prevent diseases and avoid health problems, and not just in old age,” says Managing Director Doris Maurer. The “digital healthy aging” project was so well received that it is now being extended to all of Lower Austria. It is important to introduce older fellow citizens to the new technologies carefully and in an easily accessible manner. Smart cafes offer a casual meeting. The Stupsi health app aims to encourage users to adopt a health-promoting lifestyle.

The 2022 accounts and the 2023 estimate were further agenda items under association law for the General Assembly of the fourteen municipalities in the small Waldviertler Kernland region.
