If you drop by the shop window of the Sparkasse in Waldkirch, Damenstraße 8, before Tuesday, March 2nd, 2022, you will get a little crazy mood. Because two fools have moved into the customer hall: Möslegeist and Schloßhexe. The shop windows, which can be seen from the street, are decorated with pictures of the Buchholz fools’ community, in which the two fools’ nests are united.
The Buchholzer Narrengemeinschaft eV was founded almost two years ago on February 24th, 2020 and currently consists of 115 active members. This is a connection between the two fools’ guilds Buchholzer Schloßhexen eV and Möslegeister Buchholz eV. This happened in March 2021, initially as a guest guild.
The VON currently consists of 80 traditional fools’ guilds and is divided into 6 bailiwicks. The aim of this association and its member guilds is to maintain carnival customs.
The Sparkasse would have liked to traditionally have invited to an official exhibition opening with a convivial fool’s reception and celebrated the fifth season. Due to the ongoing pandemic, this will now be postponed for another year and will probably be made up for with the Waldkirch Castle Witches on their anniversary in 2023.
