Vice Chairman of the Soksi Golkar Party Firman Soebagyo warned that there was a potential for dismissal of cadres who discussed an extraordinary national meeting (National Conference) to overthrow the Chairman of the Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto.
Firman gave an example of the precedent of the sacking of Golkar cadres in the 2004 elections. Thus, he reminded all ranks of cadres to be aware of the consequences of their respective actions because Golkar still upholds the principles of achievement, dedication, loyalty and not to be blamed.
“There were cadres who were fired from party membership for opposing and opposing the decision of the DPP Golkar Party at that time, and this was not a joke,” said Firman in a written statement, Sunday (16/7).
Firman further emphasized that the 2019 National Conference (Munas) had given Airlangga the full mandate to determine political stance and make the best decisions in the nominations for president and vice president.
The 2019 National Conference decision will then be followed by the decision of the National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas). Firman then admitted that he was surprised if there were parties who claimed to be senior Golkar cadres but instead understood the organizational rules and mechanisms.
“How come there are still cadres who claim to be senior cadres but don’t understand organizational rules and mechanisms. They ‘dance on other people’s drums’, even though they are the ones who want to destroy Golkar from within,” he said.
Firman then suspected that there was a ‘stacker’ in the emergence of the Munaslub idea by a party acting on behalf of a member of the Golkar Party’s Council of Experts. He said that there were parties who ‘craved’ to replace Airlangga’s position.
Therefore, Firman asked the chairman of the party’s ethics board to immediately process the alleged violations of cadres who fanned the Munsalub discourse.
“We urge the head of the ethics committee for the Golkar party to immediately take firm steps to warn these cadres,” said Firman.
Previously, the issue of replacing the general chairman of Golkar arose when the Golkar expert council held a meeting. The Munaslub is considered appropriate to be held to maintain the dignity of the party.
“The Golkar Party National Conference must be held to replace the General Chairperson of the Golkar Party DPP in order to restore the glory, dignity, self-esteem and identity of the Golkar Party as the main party in the country,” said senior Golkar politician Lawrence TP Siburian at the Sultan Hotel, Jakarta, Wednesday ( 12/7).
