Wake-up call 31/10: Start of the Glasgow climate summit • Residential protest in Nijmegen

• From international climate summit in Glasgow officially begins. At the conference, which will run until November 12, countries will discuss options for limiting global warming.
• In Nijmegen, a housing protest is being organized by various parties under the name of the Nijmeegse Wooncoalitie.
• Japan goes to the polls. The timing of those elections is striking, because the new prime minister has only just arrived.

Please note: the clocks were set back one hour last night. At 3:00 am the clock went back to 2:00 am and with that it is winter time has entered. This happened in all EU countries.

Changing the clock has been a recurring topic of discussion in recent years. Opponents want to get rid of it because changing the clock would be bad for people’s biorhythms.

The European Commission and a majority of the European Parliament are also in favor of abolishing the change between summer and winter time.
