What can you expect today?

  • Farmers have new promotions announced against the government’s nitrogen plans. It is not yet clear how big the actions will be, but according to Mark van den Oever of Farmers Defense Force, ‘everything that can roll’ will roll from 12 noon.

What did you miss?

The first public hearings of the parliamentary committee of inquiry investigating gas extraction in Groningen are starting today. In total, about seventy people are heard. They have been involved in gas extraction in Groningen or have experienced the negative consequences of it.

The aim of the investigation is truth-finding; how did decision-making on gas extraction take place at crucial moments? Which interests and considerations played a role? And how has the interests of Groningers been dealt with in this regard?

Previously, conversations were held behind the scenes with 124 people involved. As of today, those conversations will be held in public and can be followed by anyone who wants to, via NPO Politics.
