The World Health Organization (WHO) has estimated 72 . since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine different attacks counted on hospitals, ambulances and medical personnel. At least 71 people were said to have been killed and 37 people injured.

According to the WHO, attacks on medical facilities and staff are on the rise. In most cases, it concerns shelling with heavy weapons. At the beginning of March, for example, the hospital in Izyum, a town near Kharkov, was destroyed by a bombardment. Eleven ambulances were also fired upon and aid workers regularly have to deal with thefts and kidnappings.
