  • Polish Prime Minister Morawiecki is in Strasbourg to debate with the European Parliament and Commission President von der Leyen. It is about the court ruling that Polish law takes precedence over EU law. That means Polish judges can block decisions from Brussels – and the EU isn’t happy about that.
  • The Design Europa Awards are presented in Eindhoven. The nominees include a compact patient monitor for hospitals, a portable dishwasher-safe barbecue grill and a door handle with wireless access control.

What did you miss?

Everyone with a basic insurance with health insurer DSW will pay 3.25 euros per month more next year, bringing the premium to 127.75 euros. Every year DSW is the first insurer to offer the basic premium for next year. The increase is partly caused by the increasing use of expensive medicines and wage increases in healthcare.

On Budget Day, the outgoing cabinet expressed the expectation that the average health care premium would increase by 2.75 euros per month, but that did not include the wage increases for healthcare staff. These are paid with a higher health insurance premium.
